Friday Freebies – What Does the Squirrel Say?

What does the squirrel say?

TGIF!

Fridays are always celebratory for me because I have a different mindset on the weekend. By the end of Friday, I’m usually quite silly in my giddy anticipation for some relaxation. I don’t think it matters if you’re retired or working full time, weekdays are filled with “stuff” you might not want to do. Whereas on the weekend, we can give ourselves permission to sleep in, watch a movie, read a book, go boating or swimming, find a free concert or any other number of things going on in your local community without worrying about doctor appointments, getting to work on time and the rest of our fast-paced life.

With that in mind, I’m hoping to make Fridays a Fun post day each week where I share things that make me laugh, something odd or curious, or include some freebies I’ve come across that I think you’ll enjoy. Just follow the links below…

Something to make you laugh, one of my favorite comedians, Anita Renfroe doing The Mom Song on You Tube. I got to see her in person a month ago and she makes me laugh until I cry.

For Freebies, today is Freebie Friday at the Barnes and Noble blog and they have a free historical ebook and a free game app available. If you don’t have a Nook, no problem! Simply download their reading app to your phone, tablet or computer.

I found quite a bit at Amazon this week…

For book lovers: On the Kindle I found a historical romance titled Undeniable (The Oregon Trail Series, Book 1) by Laura Stapleton and a contemporary romance novella called A Kiss for Luck by Grace Burrowes (Sweetest Kisses series, Book .6) plus, a little something for the guys in your life, a comedic mystery called Buck Fever by Ben Rehder. Don’t have a Kindle? Download their app for your phone, table or computer.

For those who love to shop from home with FREE shipping, love to watch movies, listen to ad-free music and read books, I highly recommend that you try Amazon Prime. To convince you, Amazon offers a free 30 day trial to try it out. My husband and I are addicted to this service and did most of our holiday shopping last year through Amazon, due to the free shipping. Why fight the snow and ice when you can sit at home and wait for your packages to arrive with the 2 day shipping? We also switched to a TIVO and stream what we watch when we want to watch it using Amazon prime along with other services. Another advantage is that there is unlimited photo storage with Amazon Prime, something I’ll be investigating for sure! Every time I think it’s a great service that I can’t live without, they add something more like the Kindle lending library and a free advance eBook each month in their Kindle First program. So, if you’ve wondered about Amazon Prime, try it and see if you like it, too.

What are your plans for your weekend?

What does the squirrel say? Any idea what’s going on inside that furry brain? Hint — he’s staring at me after running around the tree a few times.

Have a great Friday!
