Reading a book by RaeAnne Thayne is like coming home, even when it’s a new town within a new series. There’s something so comforting about the way she presents a story that within a few pages I’m releasing a happy sigh. That doesn’t mean I adore every story equally or that her writing is formulaic, because I wouldn’t keep coming back if that were true. There are very few authors who consistently land on my keeper shelf, or become an auto-buy, and RaeAnne Thayne is one of them. Her stories are wholesome with real life dilemmas in a place where family is number one and the people in town truly care for one another.
This novel kicks off a new series in a town that’s struggling, with the perfect couple to bring in the ideas and the vitality it needs. Of course, our hero Aiden Caine doesn’t seem very perfect at first and he angers the women in town without knowing what he has done. He really doesn’t need to do anything, because he’s already enemy number one just by purchasing a large percentage of the town in a recent business deal. All he truly wanted was the lodge, Snow Angel Cove, so that he can host his entire family for Christmas. He gets that and so much more when he practically runs down Eliza Hayward and her five-year-old daughter with his rental car.
Fans of the HOPE’S CROSSING series will love SNOW ANGEL COVE for its theme of reuniting the Caine family at Christmas. Although the bulk of this book is about the new characters in a new town, we get a glimpse of the Caine clan and an update on their lives in the final chapters.
I bought this book in preparation of reviewing books two and three of the HAVEN POINT series for Romance Junkies. I don’t mind reading most series out of order but when it comes to RaeAnne’s books, I can’t have just one without wanting to read them all. SNOW ANGEL COVE is a sweet romance between two people who didn’t plan on falling in love. Circumstances throw them together but once they get to know the real person behind the façade they put on for the world, love easily blossoms.
SNOW ANGEL COVE is a beautiful start to a new series. Expect an emotional ride, especially at the end. I can’t wait to find out what happens next in the currently available REDEMPTION BAY and EVERGREEN SPRINGS, due to release September 29, 2015.
