Fireworks Spectacular in Sylvania, Ohio
We visited Sylvania, Ohio, with family and one of the fun things we did was attend their fireworks display. It was one of the best I’ve ever seen. We used several cameras, as well as our cell phones, to take pictures so it was fun to get back home and see how they turned out in our photo editor. Granted we had a telephone pole and wires fussing with the perfection but it didn’t hinder our viewing ooohs and ahhhs. These photos aren’t manipulated from the originals other than to crop them for better viewing on The Zest Quest. I like to see each camera’s interpretation in comparison to what my eyes saw and I have to say there’s no way our photos can do the real thing justice, but we had fun trying! Seeing life through the lens always entertains me long after the event is done.
I was most amazed at the variety of color this year. They seemed so much more vibrant – perhaps it was because we were so close to where the display took place.
The traffic was madness afterward but it didn’t lessen the fun time had by all. We had a race home between the guys and girls and the guys won with their shortcut, darn it! I guess my back roads tendency didn’t win the race this time. There were lots of kids where we parked our cars and plenty of room for some tag football and other chasing games for the children before the fireworks. Of course, once the fireworks started we were glued to the spectacle until the finale. Excellent entertainment! And so was all the ice cream we consumed over the weekend. Ice cream and summer fun seems to go together, don’t you agree?
Do you enjoy fireworks or other traditional holiday entertainment on the 4th of July?

Nice photos. I think this is the 1st year we didn’t see/have fireworks.
I like all the ooohhs and aaahs that you hear…from the young and old!

Thanks, Mel. Sorry you missed the fireworks! I think it’s more fun when we go with several people and make it a tailgate party. 🙂

Beautiful pictures. I think the most beautiful fireworks I have ever seen in person was when I was in France and they were shot out over the Mediterranean. Awesome. Thanks for sharing these with us.
