Sunset at Springfield Lake reflects colors of Autumn
Sunsets draw me to them like a moth to flame. Nothing ends a day more beautifully than a sunset, in my opinion. I quickly veered off from our destination when I saw this one developing at Springfield Lake, Ohio.
When the sun starts going down behind a treeline, you have to be quick, so I find it’s easiest to use multiple cameras to catch every nuance.
Luckily, we had just spent a few hours with our cameras on a hike in Peninsula and we were on our way out to dinner when we passed the lake.
It was a beautiful fall day, so I was hoping for a sunset-picture-taking-moment. We planned the timing of this one perfectly. We ended up using three cameras and two cell phones, like a couple of crazed sunset paparazzi.
Of course, there were a few other people popping in for the sunset views as well. I’m sure they thought we were a bit over-the-top as I juggled two cameras, my car keys and my cell phone at the same time. I was lucky to hang on to all three of them without mishap because I was laughing so hard as the ducks came at us hoping for a handout. It didn’t take them long to figure out that we were just two idiots with cameras and no food. 😀
We did get some photos of the ducks as they weaved their way in and out of our sunset-picture-taking-moment. I love how the sunset looks reflected behind them. I wonder if they see what we do and enjoy the beauty, too?
Some zestful moments are happenstance and completely unplanned. I think I enjoy those the most.
